These were tarted up Vectras (and other GM models as locally preferred).

Den här bilen.

Note the lhd despite being made in Sweden ten or so years before they decided (or the government decided: the people rejected it overwhelmingly in a referendum) to drive on the right

Kinja'd!!!

Hats were being worn in the car at the time.

It had a two stroke engine copied shamelessly from a DKW design.

Not, sadly, two of them joined together

Kinja'd!!!

But just the one. Three cylinders and 750cc of two stroke goodness giving 33 bhp. Note the rear mounted radiator, also copied from DKW. Three gears too, but you could get a Saxomat automatic clutch if three pedals was too much for you.

Unlikely though it may seem, the 93 won several rallies in the 1950s.

Nice to see the Swedes following period style of illustrating very small people in their cars.

I’ve seen images of when Sweden jumped into the modern world and decided to keep right. It was chaos. Most of their cars had been LHD for decades prior.

They had to be small so they could wear hats....

Road traffic accidents fell after Dagen H as everyone was driving around with extreme caution. After a while they got used to it and took to crashing again. The change is still controversial in Sweden.

I’ve never understood that, I guess weird stubbornness can coexist with being progressive. It’s not like they had RHD cars.

I am digging that three-plus-three. I’d like to hear the exhaust on it.

And pipes were smoked along with the hats worn.

Have you ever priced a Dunhill pipe?
